Game of the Week Review.

Game of the Week Review:
Hard to believe we are only three weeks away from the end of the season. Many playoff teams still fighting a spot and three teams in the JC, Oil City, Pittsburgh, and Smokey Mountain all have locked in their playoff spot. The SC has only one team locked into their playoff spot, Oakland, this will be their second trip to the playoffs in as many years. This week we spotlight NYC who put together a nice sweep of Detroit to help with their battle for a playoff spot with Havana and Florida who one and two games ahead of them in the standings. Adam Peoples did his best job for NYC with a stellar performance giving up only 1 hit while striking out 8.

All-Star Game Review:
The SC takes the cake in the All-Star game this season with a nail-biter victory, 5-4. Hell of a showdown between Jorge Lopez and Ethan Emerson, on an 0-2 count ,after a viciously hit foul-ball, Emerson launches a 420 ft HR off of the POY Stopper candidate. The Outlaws Headman logs the most IP and pitches by any pitcher in the game, and gets the save on his home turf, Violet Crown Field.

Injuries:
Few guys get banged up with short injuries but nothing major. OC is making the best of the Dan Edwards lose with Garrett Parker becoming the full-time starter.

Game of the Week OOTP Recap:
It wasn’t easy but the New York City BC made it look that way.

Starter Adam Peoples shut out the Detroit Motors despite having what he later called “sub-par” stuff, and the New York City BC cruised to victory, 12-0. Peoples allowed only 1 hit and rang up 8 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

“It didn’t feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through,” he said. “I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up.”

In 19 starts this year Peoples has fashioned a 8-6 record and a 3.40 ERA.
