Game of the Week Review.

The game of the week was between the Smokey Mountain Moonshine Bandits and the Pittsburgh Grinders. Both teams’ pitchers came to play and dazzled the crowd with fantastic performances. Smokey’s Sean White pitched 8 innings aloowing 2 runs, walking 3 and striking out 8. But it just wasn’t enough to beat the Grinders on this day. Pittsburgh got a good enough performance from Adam Trower who pitched a complete game, not even breaking through the 100 pitch mark. The Grinders can thank Pete Dickson for the win with his 2 hits, 1 run and one RBI being enough to help seal the win. The Grinders and Moonshine Bandits are neck and neck in the Junior Circuit trailing the white hot Oilers for the lead. What a game. What a battle.

The Smokey Mountain Moonshine Bandits picked up a win at Grinders Grounds, knocking off the Pittsburgh Grinders, 3-2. On the mound for Smokey Mountain was right-hander Sean White, who played a pivotal role in the win. White went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 2-0. Pittsburgh’s current losing streak has reached 4 games.

Justin Carlucci had a big run-scoring double for the Moonshine Bandits in the top of the fifth inning. With Smokey Mountain leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Adam Trower and stroked the double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Moonshine Bandits ahead, 3-0.
